The 2025 Wrangler 4xe PHEV powertrain is a combination of two electric motors, a 400‑volt battery pack with a fuel‑efficient 2.0L Turbo I4 engine, and a TorqueFlite® 8‑speed automatic transmission.

Most Torque of Any Wrangler Ever!

With 375 max horsepower and 470 lb‑ft of torque pulling for you, and industry-first locking front and rear differentials, off‑road capability comes quick and easy. The TorqueFlite® 8-speed automatic transmission is equipped with full-time Selec-Trac® or Rock-Trac® 4x4 Systems. The full-float construction is a stronger version of the Dana® 44 rear axle and is usually featured in construction trucks. Using extra bearings and spindles, it delivers a maximum towing capacity of up to 1,587 kg (3,500 lb). Standard on all Rubicon® models.

The available factory-installed WARN® winch is mounted to a steel front bumper and delivers a maximum capacity of up to 3,628 kg (8,000 lb). Use your might to pull other vehicles to safety and become the official hero of the off-road.

Level Up Your Grip Game

The Rock-Trac® 4x4 System with the Rubicon® model features a two‑speed transfer case with a 4:1 low‑range gear ratio (for a 77.2:1 crawl ratio). It also has a full‑time 4x4, front and rear next‑generation Dana® 44 axles and Tru‑Lok® electric front- and rear‑axle lockers. An electronic sway bar disconnect for improved articulation is included.

Hybrid Mode

Hybrid Mode combines torque from both the 2.0L Turbo I4 engine and the electric motors providing maximum horsepower, instant torque and acceleration. Electric power is consumed first to optimize performance.

 

Electric Mode

Choose Electric Mode to use battery power — until the battery reaches the minimum charge or when you want more torque, which engages the 2.0L Turbo I4 engine.

 

eSave Mode

eSave Mode saves the battery power for later — ensuring you have battery power for low‑emission zones in cities or maximum torque and horsepower on the trail for near‑silent exploration.

Easily Manage Your Hybrid System

On the Largest Touchscreen In Its Class* (31 cm or 12.3‑inches) use the Uconnect® 5 system’s Hybrid Electric Pages to manage your hybrid operations. Monitor power flow, schedule charging times to take advantage of lower electric rates, view your driving history with electric and gasoline usage details, and see the impact of regenerative braking – all on the Eco Coaching pages. The blue LED battery level monitor lights located above the touchscreen show you how much electric power you have left.

A Vehicle That Looks Out For You

Blind-Spot Monitoring And Rear Cross‑Path Detection

While moving forward, this system monitors the left and right blind spots for hidden vehicles and, if detected, warns the driver with audible and visible alerts. In reverse gear, this system monitors both sides to the rear of the vehicle, and if an object is detected, such as unseen cross traffic, the system will warn the driver with audible and visible alerts – ideal for reversing out of a parking spot.*
